PTS is providing project management services, including funding coordination, design management, public involvement, interfacing with key stakeholders such as airline operators, and construction administration. Construction of this multi-phase project began in March of 2024 and will be completed in the spring of 2026.
The Sitka Rocky Gutierrez Airport (SIT) Terminal Improvements Project will expand the facility to correct critical airport terminal deficiencies including severe overcrowding in all public areas, as well as the baggage makeup (loading/unloading) area. The project will also provide a face lift to the existing terminal with covered staging areas, curb side improvements, new art, and new concessions. The project includes a new 2-story addition on the SE side of the terminal to house new passenger screening and passenger gate lounges with an up escalator, an elevator, restrooms, and a concessions area. The remodel of the existing spaces will update finishes and themes, tying it together with the new expansion area. Project is primarily being funded with Federal BIL grants through FAA.
