PTS provided construction management services to assist the Municipality of Anchorage, Project Management & Engineering Department in constructing Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant pedestrian routes in various locations throughout Anchorage.
The Municipality continues to improve pedestrian accessibility throughout the Anchorage area. PTS provided inspection services for the 2020 ADA – Phase II, Green Acres Project located in 36th Avenue and Lake Otis Pkwy area and construction administration for PM&E project 20-03 Klatt Rd / Southport Dr Area ADA Upgrades. The projects demolished and reconstructed 48 pedestrian curb ramps based on ADA guidelines. The project involved field engineering to ensure compliant ADA ramps for sidewalks and pathways while minimizing impacts and maximizing constructability. PTS, MOA PM&E, and the Contractors closely collaborated to ensure guidelines would be met while maximizing project funding. These projects were started in the fall of 2020 and were completed in the spring of 2021.
